Tom's Message

Hi all,

Well, we’ve made a lot of progress since my last post. The exterior of the building is just about complete, and we are starting the plumbing rough out.

Our solar PV system is installed on the roof and currently generating power which is being sold back to LIPA. I expect this house will have no electric bill other than service and government fees. (about 8 bucks a month)

I need to thank Kathy Cunningham from RELI, Jerry Flaherty from LISEIA, and Bill Feldman from Empire Clean Energy for putting the event together. Also, all the installers from LISEIA who volunteered their labor and materials to get the project done.

Also, thanks to Maddy, Gail, Donna and the rest of the regulars for all their hard work. Every time I come up with a new idea, more work gets dumped on them.

Jerry Viola, our plumber is getting ready to start the plumbing rough in. We will probably have the first pipe in the ground next week. In September, I expect to have the Nassau Boces – Barry Tech kids in to handle most of the plumbing work and to finish off the electric.
